Questions about tap-to-lead

How the cards work, how each teammate gets their own profile and Lane, how contacts are sorted and followed up, what printing costs, and what happens when you cancel. If something is missing, email support@notify.bizlane.tech.

The basics

What BizLane is and how a tap works.

A tap-to-lead business card is an NFC card that opens a web page when someone holds their phone near it. With BizLane the page is a Lane: your profile, a save-contact button, the links you choose, and a short intake form. Instead of handing over a phone number, you capture a named lead with answers to the questions that qualify them.

You build a Lane — a mobile intake experience with your branding, buttons, and questions. You then point devices at it: NFC cards, QR codes on signs, or a plain link in your bio. A visitor taps or scans, sees your profile, answers a couple of questions, and the submission arrives in your inbox and your CRM, tagged with the exact device it came from.

No. NFC reading is built into iPhone and Android. iPhone XR and newer read tags with the screen on and unlocked, with no app and no setup. If a phone cannot read NFC, the printed QR code on the card does the same thing.

Minutes. During sign-up you tell us your industry, contact details and logo, and BizLane pre-builds your first Lane from that: a matching starter layout, a cover image for your industry, buttons already pointed at your phone, email and website, and a short set of relevant questions. You review it, adjust anything you want and publish.

Yes. Pick a theme, set your brand colour, upload a logo and a headshot, and choose a cover banner from a library of photography and textures organised by industry — food, salon, trades, clinic, real estate, auto, fitness, professional, events, pets, education and abstract — or use your own image, with a slider to set which part of it shows. Logos are auto-cropped so a file with white padding still looks tight on the card.

A pre-publish safety check. Before a Lane can be published, BizLane validates every flow: a call or text button needs a real number, an email button needs an address, and a link, booking or review button needs a working URL. Anything incomplete blocks publishing and is hidden from the public page, so a visitor never taps a dead button.

No. Sign-up and the Lane builder save your progress as you go, so you can start on a laptop, get interrupted and pick it back up where you left off. Publishing is always a separate, deliberate step.

Yes. The guided walkthrough runs once on your first visit and then gets out of the way. You can replay it any time from Settings, and the Lane builder keeps contextual tips beside the section you are editing.

Cards, tags & QR

NFC, QR codes, and the devices you can point at a Lane.

Use both. NFC is faster for hand-to-hand moments like meeting someone or handing over a card. QR is better at distance and on surfaces people photograph: yard signs, window clings, table stands, vehicle wraps, flyers. Every BizLane device carries both, and both land on the same Lane.

Yes. The card stores a permanent BizLane URL, not your content. You can change the questions, the buttons, the branding, or point the device at a completely different Lane at any time, and every card already in the wild updates instantly. Nothing is reprinted.

Deactivate that device in the dashboard. The card stops resolving immediately and anyone who taps it sees nothing of yours. Leads already captured stay in your account, still attributed to that device.

Unlimited devices on every plan. You are never charged per tap, per scan, or per sign. Plans differ by how many Lanes and team members you get, not by how much you use them.

Leads & integrations

Where the information goes after someone submits.

Every submission lands in your BizLane Contacts dashboard, is emailed to the people you nominate — instantly or as an hourly digest — and can be pushed to any system that accepts a webhook. Contacts view has two sides: a pipeline for people you are actively selling to, and a full contact list for everyone else you have met. You can export to CSV at any time.

Yes, through outbound webhooks. Each submission is posted as JSON to the endpoint you configure, including the contact, their type, every answer, the Lane owner it was routed to, and the device that produced it, so it can flow into HubSpot, Salesforce, Zapier, Make, or a system you built yourself. Failed deliveries are retried automatically with backoff.

Yes. Every device has its own identity inside a Lane, so a submission records exactly which yard sign, table stand, or team member's card it came from. The analytics view shows taps, submissions, and conversion rate per device.

You do. Leads belong to your account, are only visible to members of that account, and can be exported or deleted at any time. BizLane does not sell or share your lead data.

The pipeline moves each lead through New, Contacted, Won and Lost, with a note field for context. From any row you can call, text or email the person in one tap on your phone, then set the status. Analytics shows which Lanes, devices and flows are actually producing the leads you win.

Your choice, per Lane. Instant sends an email the moment someone submits, hourly rolls the new submissions into one digest, and off keeps everything in the dashboard and your webhook only. Visitors can also be sent a branded confirmation email.

Teams, profiles & contacts

Personal cards for each teammate, Lane owners, and sorting everyone you meet.

Yes. Every member keeps a personal profile in BizLane: their photo, job title, short bio, direct phone, website, LinkedIn, booking link and review link. Any Lane assigned to that person is built from those details automatically, so a teammate's card shows their face and their number while still carrying the business logo and brand colour.

Every Lane has one owner. If you are the only person on the account you are always the owner and nothing is asked of you. On a team, you pick the owner when you create the Lane. The owner's photo, name, title and personal links fill the card, and anyone captured through that Lane is assigned to them, so a shared inbox never turns into a pile of unclaimed contacts.

They get an email invite link. When they accept, they set up their own profile first — photo, title, bio and personal links — and then land in the dashboard with the walkthrough. From that point they can be given Lanes and be assigned contacts. Account owners can also tidy up a teammate's profile to keep the brand consistent.

No, and BizLane does not pretend otherwise. Every person you capture can be classified as a lead, customer, vendor, partner, coworker, personal contact or other, and tagged however you like. Only the people marked as leads sit in the sales pipeline; the rest stay in your contact list, searchable and exportable, without cluttering your follow-up.

Yes. Contacts captured through a Lane are assigned to that Lane's owner automatically. After that, a member can claim an unassigned contact themselves, and an account owner can reassign anyone's contact — for example when a rep leaves or an account changes hands.

Ordering BizLane Cards

Custom printed NFC cards, materials, and bulk pricing.

PVC with an NTAG chip, MIFARE for access-style deployments, recycled eco carton, and real wood. Every material is sold at the same tiered price, so choosing a premium or eco body costs no extra — you pay whatever tier your quantity earns.

Both work. Order one card for yourself or hundreds for a team in the same flow — one row per card, each printed with that person's name and details. The per-card price drops as the quantity rises, and shipping is included.

Yes. Start from a layout, upload your logo, set your colours, and drag the elements where you want them on the front and back. The designer shows the print safe zone and warns you when anything crosses the trim line.

Cards are printed and NFC-encoded after checkout and typically ship within a few business days, with delivery time depending on your address. You can follow the order status in your dashboard.

Plans & billing

Trials, plan limits, and cancellation.

BizLane is a flat monthly subscription with a 7-day free trial, and card orders are billed separately at tiered per-card pricing. Taps, scans, devices, and leads are never metered.

Yes — 7 days, with the full product available. You can build Lanes, point devices at them, and collect real leads during the trial.

Yes. Cancel from the billing page in your dashboard — we ask a couple of short questions about what did not work, and may offer a complimentary month before you go. If you still cancel, the subscription stops at the end of the current period, your published Lanes pause, and your contact data stays exportable until you delete it.

Yes, and teammates are unlimited on every plan. Each member has their own login, their own personal profile, and their own Lanes and cards, while sharing one business brand and one contact database. Members only see the accounts they belong to.
